A Great Memory

Hello!
I feel as if we have not really put an end blog post out here. :) So, I have decided to write one!

The plane ride was the longest day of my life! it was 2 hours to Iceland, and then from there to BWI (Baltimore) was 6 hours! The sun was mid afternoon almost the entire time we were in the air. It was a super long sunset. I was very glad to get off the plane to be able to stand up. My back and legs hurt from sitting for so many hours. When we got off the plane in Baltimore we had to wait in lines for customs and then, because we said that we had olive oil we had to wait in a different line that took even more time. After we got through all that we went to find Kenton who had come to pick us up. We did find him and it was good to be able to be back in our own van. Kenton drove us home and when we walked in the door on the table was a welcome home cake and a bowl of fruit. In the fridge there was lots of soup and other thing to snack on. On the island there were cookies, oatmeal, bread, and a jar of granola! Over the cupboard there was a big banner that, said Welcome Home! We ate some cookies and went to bed. Thank you everyone who gave us a welcome home gift! We all really appreciated the variety of food.

We have been back in PA for 2 weeks now. I do miss Europe a little, sometimes. But, it does feel good to be in PA again! My friends said that 4 mouths was a very long time, I say it went faster than I thought that it would have. I really enjoyed Europe. Paris, France and Iceland, were some of my favorite places that we toured. I really liked Tuscany, Italy also, that is where we learned a lot about olives.

I think I had some of the best ice cream of any of us on this trip to Europe! Some of the ice cream we tried was really bad and others were really good! I had the best flavor of ice cream in Florence, Italy! It was Pistachio, it was a grey green ice cream. We each were allowed two dips of any combination of flavors. I had never tried this one before and I had to pick a second flavor so I just said two Pistachio, plus it sounded good. I loved it! I would go back to Florence just to get some more of that Pistachio ice cream. :) [Mom's note: It was literally the best ice cream I ever tasted. Betsy kindly allowed me to try it, that is how I know that is my opinion too.]

I had a lot of fun blogging on the trip as long as I was into it. :) By the end I was done writing posts. But now here I am writing a very last post. Thank you all for following our blog!
